I was going to title this Sql Sever issues, but actually the fix for my problem is more general. When I first got my tablet, I couldn't install Sql Server 2005 Management Studio at all because there was an old beta version that Windows thought was on there (but wasn't). It wouldn't even let me run the installer. Brad had heard of this program but wasn't sure what/where it was. It turns out it can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301. It's a powerful tool that lets you wipe out anything that was created with the Windows installer, including things that you can't get rid of with Add/Remove Programs. This found the ghost version of Sql Server CTP and removed enough stuff to let the new installer run. If you ever have problems installing anything due to version conflicts, I'd look into this.
