Description

  • Consider requirements of editing the My Content page
    • editing a blurb about the user
    • adding an arbitrary number of "content boxes" with an arbitrary number of content elements in each box
    • be able to edit the "content boxes" by adding/removing content
    • be able to delete the content boxes completely
    • be able to rearrange the content boxes on the page and store the arrangement in the back end
  • Note also that all this information must be stored in the back end, so that you must design a framework for connecting to the data team.

For this first milestone:

  • Design a very simple ASP.NET page to display this information.
  • Design how the data of the content boxes will be stored
    • basically, what do you need to put in the back end and what do you need to retrieve from the back end
  • Stub code all the behavior of content boxes (adding, deleting, moving) -- stub because we don't have the back end yet.
  • The custom blurb should be an interface similar if not exact to the text content editing paradigm so design it in order that we can simply plug in the same editor framework.
  • For now, don't worry about adding content to the boxes, but do consider how that will affect communication with the back end.

If any of this doesn't make sense or if you have any questions at all, let me know.
